Changing the Toyz at the Adoption Center

A simple guide for replacing or adding toyz to the Adoption Center playscene!

You will need:
• Hex Editor (I use Hexplorer)

The files in Resource\Keys hold information about the toyz present in a playscene. You can easily copypaste each toy entry from a file into another!
RESETTING ADOPTION CENTER TOYZ (if you don't have the original ones anymore)

If your Adoption Center has no toyz (or less than 3 toyz in it), you will have to regenerate them:

• Open the Registry Editor (click start, search for regedit)
• Find the Petz 4 folder. It should be in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > WOW6432Node > PF.Magic > Petz 4 > 4.00.00. (Sometimes it's in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT > VirtualStore > MACHINE > SOFTWARE > PF.Magic for some reason)
• Find the entry named "Host Adoption Center's OnceOnly" and delete it.
• Start the game, the original 4 toyz from the adoption center should be back! (bone, milk bottle, star ball, yarn)

HOW TO REPLACE TOYZ IN THE ADOPTION CENTER

Go into a playscene and place the toyz you want to replace AC toyz with (playscenes need to have at least 3 toyz in them for this to work apparently, and that includes the AC. If your AC has less than 3 toyz in it, see RESETTING ADOPTION CENTER TOYZ above.)
• Quit the game. Go into Resouce\Keys and find the key for the playscene you used (It'll be called "Host YOURSCENE's AlpoInfo.lkv"). Open it in a hex editor.
Copy the toyz from your playscene's key. Here's where a toy's entry starts and ends (selected in purple):

Paste them over the toyz you want to replace in the AC's key (Host Adoption Center's AlpoInfo.lkv).
• Start the game and see your new toyz at the AC!

HOW TO ADD TOYZ TO THE ADOPTION CENTER

• If you'd like more than just 4 toyz in the AC, follow the method above and replace two of the toyz with a seed box and a watering can.
• Go to the AC and plant as many flowers as you want to add toyz (if you want to add 2 toyz, plant 2 flowers and so on). Flowers probably need to be blooming to count as an item after you quit the game.
• Go into the key file and replace the flowers you planted with new toyz!

HOW TO REMOVE TOYZ FROM THE ADOPTION CENTER

• If you just want the original 4 toyz back, see "RESETTING ADOPTION CENTER TOYZ" above.
• If you want to remove just specific items, open the AC key file in the hex editor and just change a letter on the file path to make it invalid. (for example, change Bone.toy to Gone.toy)

TIPZ!

• If the playscene you're copying from has the exact same number of toyz as the AC, you can just replace the entire .lkv file (make a copy of your scene's lkv file, rename it to "Host Adoption Center's AlpoInfo.lkv" and replace the original!)

• Sometimes there will be hidden "toyz" that you can't see. For example, some holes dug up by dogs seem to persist in the file even if they're not visible. This means that the key might actually have more toyz than you expect, and the above tip will fail if the number of toyz doesn't match, wiping all toyz from the AC.

• If all toyz get wiped, see "RESETTING ADOPTION CENTER TOYZ" above.
