LEVEL / CLASS

The skill level and the type of magician.
The skill levels are:
Beginner - Just started learning magic, still figuring things out.
Rookie - Has a good grasp of things. May be pretty good at a few subjects they've focused on, but in general, their skill is quite limited.
Skilled - Knows their way around magic and can perform quite well at most things they try. Usually sticks to their area of interest but should be capable of doing some crafts outside it, or at least able to learn them rather quickly if needed.
Adept - Has ventured enough outside of comfort zones that they have probably already attempted most types of crafts, but haven't yet experienced everything there is to learn.
Superior - Capable of almost any craft within their field. Usually into advanced research and/or teaching at magic schools.

The classes are:
Wizard - Knows how to use magic spells.
Mage - Knows how to use AND how to craft magic spells.
Witch - Practices magic in ways that don't follow standard magic logic (it's complicated and there's still a lot about it I still need to figure out). Pretty much all witches are also mages.
Note: None of these terms are gendered. There are male witches and female wizards and such.

PREFERRED FIELD

Magic fields are defined by which materials are the main source of power in their crafts. The magic fields are:
Necromagic - Uses parts of animals.
Phytomagic - Uses parts of plants.
Soulmagic - Uses souls. (Very obscure, entirely forbidden. Most magicians don't even know it exists.)
Geomagic - Uses gemstones and crystals.
Metallomagic - Uses ores and metals.
Technomagic - Uses magicores (artificial orbs made with a magis-generator).
Mechanomagic - Uses magicores manipulated by mechanical devices.
Cybermagic - Uses magicores manipulated by magic computers.

AREA OF INTEREST

Things that they specialize on or just really enjoy. Can be lots of things, like conjuring animals, creating poisons, healing, or just messing around until they discover new things.

OTHER

This is where I put stuff about elemancers (people who can control an element, like fire or lightning, without needing spells for it) or whatever other magic conditions, such as curses (not a lot to talk about this yet.)

MAGICAL BACKGROUND

Magic aptitude is greatly influenced by one's bloodline, how much they've been exposed to it (especially as a child) and how much they've practiced, so this is where I describe these aspects about a character.

MAGIS, VOLIS, PERCIS

Magis Pool - Magis is the magical energy that powers magic crafts. The magis pool is the amount of magis they have.
Volis Extent - Volis is the ability to control one's magis and magic crafts. The volis extent is how many things they can control at once, and how efficiently.
Percis Acuity - Percis is the ability to perceive magic in things and detect/identify spells. The percis acuity is how much they can sense magic, and how accurately.
Values will be typically Very Low, Low, Medium, High, Very High.

ARCASTER

Arcasters are tools that amplify magic, like staffs and wands. Still have a lot to think about these but currently we have:
Wand - Short stick, focal crystal at the base, held against the palm.
Staff - Long stick, focal crystal at one end, held at any point of the staff's shaft.
Dual-Staff - Long stick, focal crystals at each end, held at any point of the staff's shaft but typically at the middle.
Gauntlet - Like a glove, fits over one hand, focal crystal at the back of the hand.
Crosspoint - Like a cross of two staves, focal crystal at the intersection with small auxilliary crystals at each of the four ends. Held by the focal crystal piece.
Orbitus - A large focal crystal not attached to anything, kept floating around its user. Typically not held, but used by placing a hand behind it while making it float in front of the user.

All of these can have blades on them, becoming bladewand, bladestaff, dual-bladestaff, claw, bladecross, (not sure if an orbitus can be bladed tbh). There can be more specific terms, like a bladestaff that is shaped like a sword will be called a swordstaff.
Some people give them names. Also, some people have multiple different arcasters, but there's usually one that's considered their main one.
