• The setting is like modern world, but there's magic and everyone is animal people. (This particular story takes place in 2015)

• The animal people are called lucans. The word can be used in any context where “human” would, including words like “lucankind” and stuff.

• There are non-lucan animals too, called ferans. They are just regular animals. Yes, a lucan cat person can have a feran cat pet and it's just normal.

• There are some fantasy animals too, like gryphons and dragons. They are called magicreatures and can only be feran.

• Magic is like a science and anyone can learn. Every living being has a stream of “magic energy” (called “magis”) flowing through their bodies. Learning how to control it and apply it to things is how you make magic, basically.

• I came up with the concept of this story when I was an edgy 16 y.o. and had zero notion of what a decent story should be like so forgive me for all this edge.

This is the first big story I'm making, and I intend to finish it before I start any other ones. It means a lot to me because even though it was just a silly little concept I came up with while trying to sleep one night in January 2012, this concept eventually led me to develop pretty much all of the current lore of my world. All of this due to one silly edgy scene!

I released the first chapter in January 29th 2022, the date of the 10th anniversary of the creation of the original concept! I haven't been able to get chapter 2 out yet but I'm working on it! Chapter 2 will be much longer than chapter 1. While PRELUDES was very straight-to-the-point, QUESTIONS will take its time explaining important things and telling the lore, not to mention the fact that it'll introduce a bunch of new characters! I can't wait to finish it!
