Margaret is very serious most of the time, but can get overly sarcastic when stressed out, especially when with work related stuff. She generally seems cold and distant but deep down she holds a lot of trust and affection for those around her, as most of the times, when she doesn't like someone, she simply does NOT keep them around at all.
She is a natural leader and great at making decisions for the college, making sure they're always well thought out even in an emergency, as she's excellent at keeping cool and rational in any circumstances. This earns her a rather fearsome image among staff and students, as she seems always irrefutably right about things, and is also generally not too tolerant of foolishness and incompetence.
One particular quirk about Margaret is her love for hats, and how she uses them to reflect her mood. She crafts her own hats and owns a large collection, each decorated with different things ranging from beads to dried flowers to taxidermy items. Everyone in the staff already knows, the larger and scarier the hat she's wearing is, the angrier she might be. When her hat contains skulls, extreme caution is advised in approaching her.

Tallon and Margaret were classmates when they were just teens studying at Redsky Necro and they've been good friends since then. He's helped her through her secret husband's death, and she's helping him back now that his wife is gone. They are currently each other's closest allies.
.
Margulis was also one of Margaret's classmates in their student days, but she had fewer classes with her. Still, she knew her enough to help Tallon with his crush on Margulis. The three of them, together with Riddley and Koria were at some point an inseparable team. All of them ended up getting jobs on the college when Margaret took leadership and revived it, except for Margulis, who refused it because she wanted to keep doing her research in a more private location.
.
Riddley was part of Margaret's closest friend circle in their student days at Redsky Necro, and eventually became her boyfriend. But his arrogant attitude made her end up falling out of love with him, leading to a rather tragic breakup. The resentment grew stronger when years later Margaret was appointed as the new headmistress of the college rather than him, who was a direct descendant of the founder. But over time, Riddley learned that pretending to be a big deal and coveting leadership simply due to his ancestry was harming him more than helping, so he let go of his past actions and became more humble. Now with a wife and kids, he had no longer any romantic interest in Margaret, but he allowed their friendship to be restored.

Rubidium was her husband's gryphon companion. Upon his death, the gryphon was just as heartbroken as herself, and so they both helped each other cope with the incident. He was also closely bonded with her own gryphon, and eventually became mates, something that Margaret always thought would happen between those two.
.
Zura is a gryphet Margaret adopted from a rescue. She visited a gryphon-and-similar rescue center to make a donation, but ended up unexpectedly attracted to this little gryphet, who had a tragic past, who had lost her wings and her tail and was agressive towards people. Margaret managed to connect with her and calm her down. And then, she just couldn't leave the poor one behind. After some training and the best of treatment Margaret could give her, Zura lost her fear of lucans and now roams freely around Redsky Necro -- but her favorite spot to hang out is still Margaret's office.

Marco was the one responsible for getting Margaret interested in necromagic, which led to her studying at Redsky Necro. They were very close, and when she started dating Riddley, he was a bit jealous, but it was his fault for never confessing his feelings. But after they broke up, Margaret herself realized she wanted to be with Marco. Time passed and eventually they got married, but they didn't want to make a big deal out of it so they kept their whole relationship mostly to themselves (with the exception of Tallon, Margulis and Koria). Marco was a bit of an ambitious necromage, however, and as his skill level raised with his experiments, he decided to take on more and more complex crafts. One day, one of his experiments did not go as planned and his life was taken in the process. Margaret watched the event unfold and tried desperately to save him, but it was in vain. Marco was dead and Margaret felt guilty for allowing and encouraging him on going on with his crazy plan. It took her many years to recover from this incident.
