Lencester is a manager at the Redsky College of Necromagic. He really likes organization and is extremely picky about it. Worries too much, works too much, but is really good at his job, despite always seeming a bit insecure and too nervous about everything he does. People often call him by the nickname Lenny, which he hates. Also, he's sick of the monitor lizard jokes when he's doing monitoring work.
He also collects enamel pins and always picks different ones to wear for the day.

Since Lencester likes plants, he often visits the College's gardens, where he gets to talk to Silbane, the garden master. Her peacefulness and wisdom help him de-stress after particularly busy days of work.

Lencester and his mom have a rather distant relationship. He feels like a disappointment to her, because she's Lysandra Vangurenz, well known Representative for Vell in the International Magic Council and a very powerful mage, while he's her only son and simply a manager in a magic school, who barely does any magic himself. She gave him a fancy house and recommended him to this job when he couldn't find anything better on his own, and he does nothing in return to make her proud of. Meanwhile, his cousins are also accomplished mages, and he feels like his mom wishes he were the same. But actually, she never really thinks he should be any different. She loves him all the same, but doesn't get to show it much because she's a very cold person herself, and her job often keeps her busy.
