Luthenfold is a wondrous old city, characterized by order and elegance and home to many scholars and students of magic. But its academic-focused efforts aren't the only facet of this crystalline empire. Like any place with high magic activity, there are always agents of a darker side lurking about, unnoticed. Their actions, however, tend to stay in the shadows, without affecting the city negatively in any significant way.

In contrast with Luthenfold's exuberance and peacefulness, there are the Warren Midlands: an expanse of cities and villages where there are no rules, plagued by wars and rampant crime. Nested among decaying ancient buildings from the time of kingdoms, the whole region is known as a free-for-all, where one can only count on oneself for survival, as the few enduring communities are often torn by betrayal and mistrust.
