Kass saved Kevyn's life when he had his neck cut. She was carrying out a mission coincidently at the location where it happened, so she and her team managed to rush him into the care of the healers at her group's headquarters. She also took care of him for a while as he recovered, allowing them to get to know each other better. They have strong feelings for each other, but neither of them really thinks it would be a good idea to bring it forth.

Kevyn met Catarina when she did illusion tricks at a circus in the Midlands. He could tell from her presentation that she was an illusiomancer like him, so he approached her after the show and they talked and became friends. He actually has a crush on her too.

Mylos met Kevyn when he studied at LuthenMag. Although Mylos was several levels ahead of Kevyn, they occasionally shared a magic lab, in which Mylos helped him with assignments he struggled with. But they weren't more than acquaintances back then, so when Kevyn dropped out of school, Mylos didn't even care or even notice for a while. However, later on, their paths crossed again when Mylos fell for one of Kevyn's illusiomancy scams. When he found out, he should've killed him then and there, but in an attempt to recover his losses, he ended up joining Kevyn in his quest. After that ordeal was done, he learned that a partnership with him could be useful at times. They mostly just tolerate each other when they occasionally collaborate.

Zechary thinks Kevyn is an asshole and an idiot. Kevyn thinks the same of him. However, they do collaborate with each other occasionally, mostly when they're forced to.

Kevyn's dad always loved his son very dearly, but as he grew up, they started to have conflicts. Kevyn wanted to go out and do things he tought were dangerous, so he tried to protect him. But containing an illusiomancer of Kevyn's skill isn't easy and he would always easily escape and refuse to listen to his dad's advice. Kevyn would often come back home beat up or injured in other ways, and absolutely hated hearing the "I told you" from his dad and his step-mom. Eventually, he made up his mind that he wanted to go study at LuthenMag, a decision his dad thought was very foolish, given that he had no money and no real plans on what to do when he arrived in Luthenfold. But Kevyn left anyway, and his family hasn't heard from him since. Now, after failing and giving up on magic school, he regrets his decisions and misses his family, but is too ashamed to go back and face them.

Kevyn did not get to know his mother, because she died on the day he was born.

Kevyn's relationship with Mae was good when he was a child, but as he grew up and turned rebellious, he would often disregard her because she was not his real mom. This always made her really sad, and he knew it. Now, he regrets doing that and wishes he could come back to apologize. Despite everything she still worries about him.

The only thing that Kevyn manages to not lose. He calls it his lucky jacket not because it brings him luck but because the jacket itself seems lucky. It always seems to survive no matter what, and even if he loses it, he somehow always manages to recover it.

A phone he keeps at his rented storage unit in Luthenfold, to make sure he's still somewhat contactable by the few people he cares about. He wouldn't want to risk losing it while going about on his scams.
